Consider Your Origins
When creating Consider Your Origins, I took inspiration from sculptures I have come across throughout my travels. I encountered these sculptures in a diverse range of contexts: art museums, sculpture gardens, churches and in front of historical sites. More than before, sculpture began to reveal itself as a highly accessible art form that preserves history; it tells a story that enters into the lived environment with the viewer. The overall vision for the project was to create a series of “portraits” that explore a bold use of color and to continue on the nuanced stories of subjects already explored in the art world.
